The Guadalupe Union School District (Kindergarten - 8th Grade) is located in California's Central Coast region approximately 70 miles north of Santa Barbara and 32 miles south of San Luis Obispo. The city which is situated in the northwest section of Santa Barbara County and has a population of approximately 6800 residents.
Guadalupe is located in the rural agricultural section of the greater Santa Maria Valley. Agriculture is the biggest industry in and around the city. The schools serve families of Guadalupe as well as families from the neighboring farms and ranches. Many students come from migrant families. Enrollment in October 2012 was 1205.
The district operates a variety of instructional programs to support and supplement core instruction, including: School Improvement Program, Title I, ELL, After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program, Tutoring Program Services and Summer School Program. Instructional Support Assistants, Campus Safety Assistants, Outreach Coordinators and Resource Officer Support the certificated staff. A library and computer lab are available at both school sites. Community support strengthens school programs and assists in promoting student achievement.
